Narcan
Cotulla ISD District Nurse, Melanie Ayala, RN, has trained all campus nurses and School Resource Officers (SROs) in the emergency response procedures needed to provide safe and effective management of opioid-related overdoses in the school setting. Cotulla ISD will begin stocking the medication Narcan through the nurses' offices and SROs in order to facilitate access for a quick response in the management of opioid-related overdoses. Narcan, administered quickly enough, can help reverse the effects of a fentanyl overdose.
