Superintendent
I am excited and honored to have been chosen as the new superintendent of Cotulla ISD. I look forward to working collaboratively with the school board, staff, students, parents and community to enhance the educational experience for our students.
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. I was born in Midland and raised in Alpine. I am the second of seven children, all of which are in education. Thanks to my parents, we grew up knowing the value of an education. We all attended Sul Ross State University and became educators. I graduated from SRSU in 1988 and began my career as an elementary teacher. Since then, I have faithfully served in educating children as a teacher, coach, counselor, principal, associate superintendent, and superintendent for 33 years. My wife, Rebecca, has also been an educator for 28 years.
I believe in a quality and comprehensive education for all students. Cotulla ISD is known, not only for its academic excellence and extracurricular programs, but also for the positive and healthy relationships between staff and students. I am grateful to have the opportunity to work in a district where the students are the main priority.
I thank the Board of Trustees and the entire community of Cotulla and Encinal for allowing me to be a part of this Cotulla ISD family. Finally, I want to congratulate Dr. Jack Seals for his 10 years of exemplary leadership of Cotulla schools. I wish him well in his retirement.
