Screenings
Screenings performed at the campuses and grade levels at which they are performed:
- Hearing - Students 4 years old or older in Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 7th grades.
- Vision - Students 4 years old or older in Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 7th grades.
- Spinal - Girls in grade 5 and grade 7. Boys in grade 8.
- Texas Risk Assessment for Type 2 Diabetes - Students in 1st, 3rd, 5th and 7th grades.
If screenings indicate there are any problems, parents will be sent a letter. You will be informed of the screening results and how to contact the school. You will also be informed on how to report follow-up information to the school.
All campus nurses are certified to perform all screenings. Please contact your child's campus nurse for more information on your child's screening results or to request a screening.
