CHS Counseling Center Important Dates

Reminder that registration is happening today and tomorrow at RBE. Please park in the back parking lot and use the cafeteria entrance. Registration will take place in Encinal on Thursday.

📣 Cotulla ISD is excited to welcome Yajaira Gauna as a new Teacher at Ramirez Burks Elementary!

Ms. Gauna is a proud graduate of The University of the Incarnate Word, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education EC–6 with a double minor in Literacy and Special Education.

She brings a strong background in elementary education and a passion for helping students grow, and we are excited for the energy, knowledge, and commitment she will bring to our students and our campus!

2025-26 DISTRICT REGISTRATION BEGINS MONDAY! DISTRICT-WIDE IN-PERSON REGISTRATION RAMIREZ-BURKS ELEMENTARY CAFETERIA MONDAY, JULY 14-THURSDAY, JULY 17- 8:00 AM- 6:00 PM ENCINAL ELEMENTARY CAFETERIA THURSDAY, JULY 17- 9:00 AM TO 5:00 PM RETURNING STUDENTS *All Parents/Guardians must present a photo id at the time of registration. *Guardians must bring guardianship paperwork. *If your child’s physical address has changed, you must provide a current Utility Bill. NEW STUDENTS Please bring the information below: *Birth Certificate *Social Security Card *Immunization Record *Proof of Residence (Utility Bill) *Signed guardianship paperwork if someone other than the parent is registering the student. *Parent/Guardian must present a photo id at Registration. *PK students must show proof of income. 📣 Cotulla ISD is excited to welcome Vanessa Sanchez as a new Instructional Coach at Ramirez Burks Elementary! Ms. Sanchez is a proud graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a concentration in Health. She brings a strong background in education and instructional development, and we look forward to the positive impact she will have on our teachers, students, and elementary campus.

📣 Cotulla ISD is excited to welcome Lucy Saldivar as the new Early Childhood Learning Center Coordinator! Ms. Saldivar earned a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and later pursued a Master’s degree in Elementary Education from the Relay Graduate School of Education in San Antonio. She brings a strong foundation in early childhood development and a passion for supporting young learners. We look forward to the care, and expertise she will bring to our Early Childhood Learning Center!

📣 Cotulla ISD is excited to welcome Dr. Vanessa Fox-Norton as the new Principal of Encinal Elementary School! Dr. Fox-Norton brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to our district. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Tarleton State University, a Master’s degree from Lamar University, and a Ph.D. from the University of Texas at San Antonio. We are thrilled to have her join our team and look forward to the vision, dedication, and commitment she will bring to the students, staff, and families of Encinal Elementary!

Ms. Sandoval is a proud graduate of Texas A&M University–Kingsville, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Science – Education. With 6 years of teaching experience, she brings a strong background in agricultural instruction and a passion for learning.

We look forward to the knowledge, enthusiasm, and dedication she will bring to our students and agriculture program!

Mr. Lara is a proud graduate of Texas A&M International University, where he earned a Bachelor of Music with All-Level Certification. He brings musical talent, dedication, and a passion for developing student musicians. We look forward to the energy and expertise he will contribute to our band program and the Cotulla ISD community.

Mr. Chapa earned both a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education and a Master’s degree in Music Education from Texas A&M University–Kingsville. He brings a strong musical background, instructional experience, and a passion for helping students grow through music. We look forward to the talent and leadership he will bring to our band program and Cotulla ISD!

📣 Cotulla ISD is proud to welcome Kassandra Perez as our new Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP)! Ms. Perez earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in Psychology from Our Lady of the Lake University. She continued her education at the University of Texas at San Antonio, where she earned a Master of Arts in School Psychology. We’re excited to have her on board and look forward to the expertise and care she will bring to support the well-being of our students!

📣 Cotulla ISD is proud to welcome Brady Kuenstler as our new Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)! Mrs. Kuenstler earned a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Biology from New Mexico State University and went on to complete a Master of Education in Counseling and Development from Lamar University. We’re excited to have her join our team and look forward to the valuable support she will provide to our students, staff, and families.
