Eight students represented Newman Middle School, with seven participating in CX Debate for the first time. Despite their limited experience, our students rose to the challenge, showcasing exceptional dedication, critical thinking, and strong debate skills throughout the competition.

The team included 7th graders Aaralyn Garcia, Scarlett Martinez, Victoria Medina, Aleks Peralta, and Noah Flores, along with 8th graders Raeven Ramirez, David Ramirez, and Aralynn Valles. Each team competed in three rounds, debating both the affirmative and negative positions on the resolution regarding whether the United States federal government should significantly increase its exploration and/or development of the Arctic.

Aaralyn Garcia and Aleks Peralta earned 3rd place, while Victoria Medina and Scarlett Martinez secured 4th place honors.

Congratulations to all our debaters for their hard work and impressive achievements—Newman Middle School is proud of your success and commitment to academic excellence.
