ECLC strives to provide engaging, hands-on learning experiences for all of our students. This past month, a mulit-sensory approach was used as students explored gardening. Children used various senses to see, feel, and smell the different aspects that go into gardening.
Infants explored the textures of soil and water as they planted seeds.

Toddler I classroom planted sunflower seeds. Whereas Toddler II classroom planted pumpkin seeds and then painted pumpkins that were so generously sponsored by the Miranda family.

Preschoolers explored gardening equipment such as trowels, rakes and gloves. They then used their gear to dig soil, plant seeds, and water the plants. Afterwards, their amazing teachers extended the learning by having them explore a carved pumpkin.
