Cotulla Independent School District is proud to announce a new partnership with Southwest Texas College's Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) Program to provide community members 21 years of age and older with the opportunity to earn their Texas Certificate of High School Equivalency (GED).

This partnership reflects our continued commitment to expanding educational opportunities not only for our students, but also for our employees, families, and community members. By investing in adult education, we are helping strengthen our workforce, support families, and create new pathways to higher education, career advancement, and lifelong success.
We are excited to welcome Mrs. Cindy Ochoa as the instructor for our inaugural cohort. Mrs. Ochoa is a dedicated educator with 25 years of experience serving students at both the elementary and high school levels. Throughout her career, she has earned a reputation for her passion for teaching, her ability to build meaningful relationships with students, and her commitment to helping every learner succeed. She is now bringing that same dedication to our community by helping adult learners achieve one of their most important educational milestones: earning their high school equivalency credential.

📅 First Cohort Begins: September 2026
🗓️ Class Schedule: Three evenings each week
🕠 Class Time: Approximately 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
📆 Program Length: September through the third week of November

Spanish GED Program
Cotulla ISD is also planning to offer a Spanish-language GED program later this school year. Additional information regarding registration, dates, and class schedules will be announced in a separate posting. If you are interested in completing the GED program in Spanish, please watch for that announcement in the coming weeks.
