We are proud to share exciting news about our district’s progress in the Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) program.
TIA is a state initiative designed to recognize, reward, and retain highly effective teachers through annual state-funded designations.
After completing a one-year data-gathering phase, our district submitted teacher effectiveness data to the Texas Education Agency (TEA) for validation. On February 3, 2026, we received official notification that our data was approved, marking a major milestone in this process. While teacher designations are not formally awarded until eligibility is verified in the spring, this approval confirms that our local designation system is fully approved through 2029.
Our TIA system measures student academic growth over the course of an entire year, and we recognize that meaningful growth extends beyond our initial academic categories. As part of the next phase, the district will have the opportunity in April 2026 to make adjustments to academic categories and seek TEA approval to expand eligibility to additional staff across Pre-K through Grade 12, including areas such as Career and Technical Education (CTE) and Fine Arts.
Our intent is to make the necessary adjustments to ensure that all teachers have the opportunity to qualify for a designation under our fully approved TIA system, while maintaining the integrity and rigor required by the state.
Eligible Teaching Areas Currently Include:
Grades 3–8 Reading/Math, Grades 5 & 8 Science, Grade 8 Social Studies, English I, English II, Algebra I, U.S. History, and Biology.
Potential Teacher Designations:
Master Teacher – up to $24,132 annually
Exemplary Teacher – up to $13,409 annually
Recognized Teacher – up to $6,729 annually
Designations may be awarded each spring for up to five years, supporting our continued commitment to recognizing excellence in teaching and learning.
We are proud of our educators and excited about what this means for our students, staff, and community!
