I want to welcome you all to the May 25th check meeting people that are here are sister said about this sister Ruben said about the superintendent Mr and Ms Walker athletic director Marcus Booker representing CHS Susan Garcia Miss Johnson representing Newman I'm sorry to let you know mr. Alvarado for SRO Miss hostel for safety and kutzler for mental health right innocent all we have sorry in Ensenada we have Miss Lopez for Ensenada and the parent welcome okay the first item is the covid update and Miss Ayala wasn't able to be here because she is a sponsor for confirmation so they had to be there earlier so she did send me a report although her report says we have no current staff for student cases this was yesterday afternoon that she sent me but we do have one case as of this morning and it's a staff member and it is a staff member so it's not a student and no students in quarantine so she said that activity has been really low since February and we continue to have covid rapid test kits available at all campuses and all campuses will have coverage in the nurse's office during the summer so it will be a nurse assigned to each campus and can test you and her staff members as needed any questions that come that came from Miss Viola should we start the gear he'll think about that right now that's what they're using some of the classrooms they want to see who can do away with those we're still disinfecting things like that with her, should be in place by a referring to the shield I think I I guess you going to make it a decision with you in the summer when we look at the numbers in the county our district how many staff members are affected if we have a high number you know what will keep those filled up but if not we might have to take a chance with that can we always go back when I going to throw them away so we're going to have them stored up and we can bring him back last year beginning of the school year we had high number did it drop during the year and it came back in after the Christmas break so we're noticing that when you have a big break that's when you know it's going up but really you know how the numbers have been low all everywhere show me the map that you don't ever have any been anybody sitting next to each other play still out there because I don't want to remember we'll just monitor the numbers before we make a decision now any other questions I move on a handbook form I know that I'm going to talk about the handbook form that has been brought up I'm not sure exactly where it's at handbook revising and I'll show you the Constitution cheerleader she started the meeting because we can't hear anything hanging here now Honda and word form in the paper will cost me to have it online for this apparent or they can fix up one at the central office or at the campuses as well as indicating what the topic but they want us to look at some of the changes the Burbage and as a committee we will take a look at that one like those parents to come in and explain the rationale for that reason why we need to change throughout the year we have multiple parents have come and talk to us regarding the handbook the I'm in the employee handbook as well we have time alone before he's looking at that there's things that we have to look and make changes necessary changes at 2 you see fit but I want to let the parents know that they're not going to get there way just because I need to fill out a form but if they have some Merit to it then we should look at it and make it easier and sometimes you know when we products indicate something we think that were Community correctly to the parents and it's not using the interpretation is different and that's what causes a lot of the issues that we have it's a people interpreting want to make sure that we could narrow down so that we all the senior focus on what was looking at so we will be doing that over the summer ends will have the opportunity to come and talk to the committee and get their input on that and we'll take it to the board with the board will you know we'll look at it give him every single copy that was turned into us so they can review it as well if they should feel that you know we we just read the one they could always come back and stay at that to it and really it's like anybody Titan I think the one that applies you know we always get all the applications to see if you know if there's someone that you know that we left out or we could for some reason you felt that mean that person should get an interview a bunny suit we need to be transparent and that's what we're trying to do give everybody the opportunity to speak to us and let us know how they feel about it and what's Burbage didn't force will turn out okay will get his input on that as well so that's what we're looking out for over the summer so that we can make sure that this multiple and but not just our student handbook but we have employee handbook the cheerleader Constitution turmeric which other one there's a few other ones that we have to look at it will be making the necessary changes a within the community Dental in the handbook vacation people be decided just to a happy. Statman because the campus is do their own handbook did he bring it to the ministry central office Aaron's in Burlington pertaining to the Shell station talked about and then we might have confidential stuff that we will be discussed and we don't want to make sure that we always discuss anybody else's stuff personal stuff we were talking about so we want to make sure the parent given the opportunity to have their input but to be part of the committee that we kind of then they'll be there really not pertaining to any of the other parts except for that top in Taiwan now so we want to give them the opportunity for that top of the  there concern but not every single. Because that that could take forever of you if we look at that so we don't we start with a campus is doing the handbook for making the necessary changes to bring it to us to look at that and then it's District committee that will be looking at parents concerning something we could probably just too many parents in the committee community we have the written statement and what they want to change it to be specific to that and because to me it is just that if some parents might have been complaining about the handbook and if they don't fill out a form then you know I don't want to do anything about it so I'm hoping that they took time to do that please listen to me and I'll come and move it into him and take action on that but but it is because we can have a lot of people just calling in and take over but they won't want to fill out the form they don't want to take time for love not think this was going to be such a serious one really want some changes not yet but we will have to post who got to make sure that we put them in our website newspaper and you'll have the time with that line on that parents that had the complaint we will call him personally to remind because we don't want to leave anybody out there because they're the ones that we did the Portuguese going to reach out to make sure you reach out to the parent they have two complaints by now, everybody should have that opportunity to anybody else in the community watch online but we're not you know if they're not speaking out with their want to fill out something when I get to do that type of wanted a company this year or concern go to the one that we're going to be make sure they have a boyfriend sleep with a baby any other questions no questions number 5 the commute eligibility provision under nutrition services I just wanted to inform you that I have officially declared cp4 my nutrition program so starting in August our kids will be eating free on forward so I think our percentage was almost 93% of 3 meals or 93% of the meals that I provide will be claimed as free and about 7.2 percent will be paid the difference is like for paste meals you get like $0.40 per meal and a free meal you get like $3.75 so that's the difference between a free meal and a patriot are y'all on your campuses I encourage you all to tell the kids even though they don't want to eat to go and get a plate so we can claim him to the more we claim the more money we get breakfast I know we do breakfast in the classroom at the elementary but like Junior High and high I would encourage you to send the kids at least you're the to pick up all they need for breakfast is two items in for lunch all they needed three item any questions on that for every student will you free one will have to pay for lunch tomorrow I had to be a fruit or a vegetable can we get the bus to drop them off at the high school they come in all the time for the bus does drop them off right there in front of you Library area right there so he just walk in. Yeah and if any man comes through there shop for the kids and that's the next next year we're looking at that we're anyone that stays for a medic or around after school activities tutorial think about that right now we provide them with the click snap instead of a snack you can be like you know something corn dog or something something to you and needs you they're hungry and they're staying after school for their practice the only problem for all that we encounter with that is that Miss Prissy with athletes they evening they start throwing up because they have coaches are making them runs out we got to work with a coach to see how we can do that Rascal maybe I can you just done certain things of food or something or just let me know you got to work around that when you but it's good for the kids are in tutorials they can eat that as well as she said wind up getting reimbursed for that but one step at a time and thank you for doing a great job any other questions no questions so we'll workouts on things make 9:30 the boys will be from start at 4 107 incoming 6th grade 7th grade basic income and 6 written up because we found out had a kid almost pass out and find out who the 5th graders so I don't know how many I got to check the girls are at 9:30 in the morning what time the boys off 47th and will be looking for me in the Middle School up in 42 46 in high school from 5 to 7 cuz we're going to cut the stitches work outside the majority my kids last year with middle school kids I'm going to come up there to Coastal Kids 46 + 25 + 7 + 45 lb weight lifting and 45 6 will be the Middle School go out and they'll do you like football 4 to 5 and then you want me to 56 and Walters a yellow bass be fourth grade and hopefully within the future I'm going to come back home cuz you need to come up here one day basketball drills you can do your practice I used that open gym I can't do that anymore because it was just dropped the kids off and be there all day just like a mama and transportation 7:30 going to get to summer school but the girl will be right the summer school bus Elementary at what time but it ain't enough y'all had a question just wondering about the times again so the girls you said 7:30 a.m. 9:30 a.m. until 6:30 and then the boys 3 p.m. summer school is it's just a conflict normally we don't have a conference with the girls normally that's why we start later I would have any kids at 8 I'm trying to correct that still I just don't want any other questions okay we'll go on to number seven mental and Social Services send text message to Marlene but I was not she's very busy right now but I did print out a little form of everything that we've done all year long on each campus knowledge Mission will be on the website we just we have a clean up we did have a new stuff last time in prison and anti-bullying presentation to 5th grade classes and is now and then we had Red Red Ribbon Week or a drug National bullying prevention did we did a coordinated with a PD and they come in and it's just that I don't work this a student to not only me but it's also for their behavior I have a question on August 4th at 1 through her grade level correct so we did it with rbe we did one child per teacher nominated student and then we look at attendance discipline report and then different scary things to determine who is the student of the month I guess for my question how many kids are on the campus the Arby's I would be for I mean if there's kindergarten classes at 4 months convert to May for every classroom no I'm just wondering it's been a long time only getting very very little I'm just curious if they're I'm not include a few more I'm not saying that this is great but that's four times with such an order coming his way. getting create and Implement lunch Club small groups for 4th and 5th graders they met each crazy speech 4th and 5th grade met once a week and we friendship skills cognitive behavioral therapy with them which Camino Real and communicated to the parents these resources it's kind of like a mirror image of what play a timer for farol and recognition program I do know that Miss Lopez dip also did the same with a kind of tree she did it daily so I wasn't there every day so she kind of took over that that tree and then for breakfast Middle School Lake Nona Middle School date there's a bulletin for campaign advertise their Mental Health Resources and help students with their coping skills she has completed the American school counselor training and it's certified mental health specialist she completed the youth Mental Health First Aid this past month and is ready to address any issues or concerns she did receive a grant from Base education and she will complete training to provide a I didn't offer remember the time so if there is a child 16 we asked them if they would like to stay with somebody else if we would like to move somebody to the trouble and we have about three kids that do not want anybody sitting with Riley while I remember that I'm Remember When Elementary charge lunch but then we never really knew do you really want to be by yourself I just flat out ask him sometimes I'll sit with them and if you can just tell that they're getting annoyed by me trying to have a conversation the new legislation regarding counselors because Council star I mean it's so busy with a lot of our paperwork some of them they give them the possibilities that 50 for special ed and they and they were preoccupied with a lot of things they weren't really working so when the law passes has summer they wanted to make sure the council's work with kids 8 and up a time 20% on paperwork so they got to District to look into that if you could dirt bike that do we have to come up with a plan and what to do cuz I'm small dishes going half of them don't even have a counselor so I mean so what we did is that we did hire additional help for the counselors they can't they have a secretary now to do some of the paperwork so that they could free and free their time so they can work with the students will accept the high school they ask they ask for another they should I cannot account for the Tina Studies have money whatever does that mean because they need someone because of scholarships ct3 plans and whatever they need somebody more than a secretary or someone she want to come with a new High School certification to think that they need to have so we made an effort to do that we did end up hiring individuals can help him out we're still not there in 20 will like to next year. Religious Defiance you up so I could be there to help a student we're also looking at capturing Hearts that's on to know when it's a minute that's an expensive program teachers over the summer going to get them trained to begin in August and this is kind of connective tissue relationship for us students who want to make sure that the kids feel I'm safe I wanted to talk to you and do it teaches teaches you how to care for kitchen show it's a really good Pro expensive program but we felt that that would be something that would help the entire is not discounting for everyone every teacher you will go to that training so we're committed this year we looked at it last year but the fact is Will Come Coleman we felt that that was you don't keep yours are in a roll over well maybe it was just a lot and so we just do it let's just get back to school try to make it this year and then we're starting from any problems but that's one of the you probably going to look at 4 also when the bed and packing or one of our students that happened I know we have counselors from other districts they came and helped us out Somerset talk about the program in Michigan can start buying a little bit more about I have to contact so we're going to look into that too because it's more of a referral right and then I'm going to find the kids that might need some help we want to make sure because you know happens tragically we start thinking we know what are signs that we didn't catch is there things that happened with no wind knows that that individual reached out to two people so we don't start questioning ourselves what kind of done differently when you to help the child go to the things that we are implementing a new program will be training the teachers and the staff and see what we can do that if we can identify some of these students before something but I think it's the relationships and you saw that in the attended the bells were available that they have you do some students do connect with each other and the teachers are like little kids after they got the award from cell that recognition they were really crying it was hoping it will connect with someone sometimes it kills other students for students to the adult and that's something that you know hopefully we'll have some training next year for you do what can we do better and that's what we looking at and after we got a couple things that we will be looking at the programming and discount for the doing a great job to take me happy elementary counselors going to the two of you bothered to help out the prices so they did that for us now I'm in love with the other school district and it's a lot and I know our officers are really busy and he'll talk a little bit about give you some of the safety insurance any other questions for my mental health student family and Community involvement I don't think we have anybody for that matter okay so we'll go to I'm going to fight the other day RCN and I shall we were looking at okay what what do we do to conclude in the stack of Mega Mission stuff so that's why we know you see more people here now coach year coach the ministration sounds good. Marcos and we would go to Corpus and it was all the UPS met everybody in and it was teachers down and it was actually a really neat conference I mean it was very heading that committing but right now me this year I'm in San Antonio so I'm hoping that the office will go and maybe some extra Bella staff members very informative very pretty good right now who's going to be sure you got to know who belongs to what spot Boatwright she and I work together when you missed boat ride her husband work for transportation you know Street I don't know if I hope you'll still have it like that and you're calling treason and then like the pink people I know are terrible cuz that's why a lot of the parents could not get their kids cuz they were identified him to have where you can let those children go to their parents and they had their paperwork and have would have called the triangle yeah there's work to be done and hopefully we'll be ready I'll be right by don't have a nice shower oh hopefully in Placer or making least in the process of getting in the shower and then upgrade in the arm over the summer the sheriff and his deputies are we coming in looking at the situation and see you know what do we need to do to make the school safer and then we looked at because I'm when they shoot most people when they have the guns at me all the shooter say you they shoot through the glass we're hoping that there's there's some film out there you before you can put them on the on the glass that would who is not bulletproof but it's these kind of conferences hope I'll get some ideas and see what's out there what's new and that's what we'll be doing throughout the summer and throughout the year but I think that the priority right now is trying to get in the shower old account I think I'm in her seat and you go to open the door in apparent storms bus driver what's bus driver to do the bus driver to the bus driver in and you don't know what the parents intentions are above the bus driver a loses control situation can't defend themselves and then I got a whole pile of kids on their you know open up the kiddos, is it legal what would it be legal for a bus driver to carry wasp spray or mace or something hosen yeah I mean those are those are things that you can have the classroom so you can have in the bus as well for causing house to deal with the whole policy in it as far as that the whole I did not put that on the bill to look into what what the bus drivers can do and and how they can protect themselves your first and foremost so that they can protect do you know what the WASP the wasp great so far and then when it sprays it like your eyes and I need to look at what other things are and what we can and maybe the bus driver can have the same thing going right field but all of the scary fire extinguishers but the drivers got one right there I would I would smoke someone out with a fire extinguisher because then you can you can not a totally incapacitated him if you give more delirious and I can't see what you're doing smoking with that and I guarantee you you skull cracking with it if you're not worried about you. you got to think about these things as well and we just be prepared but we got to see what's legal over there by the door never know you have to even thought of her I just want my fourth year at post before I moved here there is a coach there and she was at but the parent really didn't know her child in 6th grade in this change my whole outlook they came after me and I wasn't even the right coach just cuz we both have blond at the same time and that was a game-changer and they pushed me and of course you got me high give it right back to him but that was before campuses were closed do you know now everything for our part where I feel like we're pretty we done a really good job if you did things close but anything can happen like that it's going to be here Jackson and some teachers are going to be a very loving okay let's be quiet as a mouse and you should be but then there's something to be Firefly and you're fighting and I just feel as if to have everybody who has a chance if you have that right by the door because someone's going to go over the intercom right and they're going to stay whatever y'all to is kids are going to know and then everybody's going to help I would think that was on the phone with you can do it time and if your door is already locked which it should be then you don't have to worry about them coming in and if there's kids that are in the hallway I know that was the I think mr.
